Who we are
In 2016, Protectors of Paradise was founded by Micah Doane, a lineal descendant of Mākua, as a small platform to get people involved in Mālama ka ʻĀina. As a waterman, he was sickened to see all the rubbish and illegal dumping that plagues the ʻĀina. What started as a social media page, grew into a non-profit organization that has removed over 1.5 million pounds of rubbish from the Leeward Districts and Coastline from Waipahu to Kaʻena Point, educated thousands of people, and inspired our local youth to be responsible stewards of our communities.
“He Aliʻi Ka ʻĀina, He Kauwā ke Kanaka.” The Land is Chief, Man is Its Servant.
Protectors of Paradise stands steadfast to this belief to protect Hawaiʻi for our future generations.
